New Stuff at Danny Barnes

Barnes has a new recording available called Barnyard Electronics. We also have a new video at his site:

You can listen to the entire first song the special page for Barnyard Electronics. He recorded the album himself so each cd is "hand-assembled". It's one of those collections that startles you at first but then grows on you.

He has been mastering a craft of creating multi loops from his banjo and building a band right there on the spot. He tackles some Thelonious Monk (my favorite track) and an old Bad Livers tune alongside the very new stuff. I like it more w/ each listen.

It sounds NOTHING like the live rock band in the accompanying video. That's his summertime rock band w/ guest Darol Anger on fiddle. See what you think, but this might be the best band on the planet you hardly ever get to see. Barnyard Electronics is more experimental and played almost completely on the banjo (though it sounds like a bass on some parts.)
